About Pollyball

In 1990, Polly Hylant-Tracy lost her battle with cancer, and her husband, three daughters, and family wanted to remember her in a special way.  Their family decided to arrange a volleyball tournament in her honor, as they often played the sport in Polly’s backyard.

Pollyball began as a small fundraising event at the LaJolla beach volleyball courts formerly off Reynolds Road, and over the last 26 years has grown into the huge event held every August at the beach volleyball courts at International Park.  Pollyball has raised over $1,000,000 to support breast cancer detection and awareness programs.
