FREE LEGAL CLINIC DRAWS FULL HOUSE

The YWCA’s domestic violence shelter hosted a free legal clinic last month at the YWCA. The clinic brought participants together with local attorneys to get help with civil – not criminal – cases. In the two-hour session, more than 30 clients got answers to questions about divorce, child support, housing, and other topics.The program is sponsored by the Ohio Domestic Violence Network. It is open to anyone from the community seeking legal assistance.According to Jan Bruggeman, director of the YWCA’s domestic violence shelter, the legal clinic recognizes the challenges that individuals experience in accessing legal counsel.
