Building Bridges to Equity takes place on May 22nd, 2024, from 9am to 3pm at One SeaGate.

Join us in leading discussions on racial and social justice, raising awareness about the intricacies of racism, and encouraging community members to take action for change.

Our Annual YWCA Stand Against Racism Conference brings together a diverse audience of Northwest Ohio community leaders, service providers, advocates, groups, and individuals united in our mission to eliminate racism and promote justice.

BUILDING BRIDGES TO EQUITY

Keynote Speaker Anthony Ray Hinton:

Wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death row, Anthony Ray Hinton spent 30 years fighting for his freedom. With the assistance of the Equal Justice Initiative, led by attorney Bryan Stevenson, Mr. Hinton was freed in 2015.

Since his release, Mr. Hinton has traveled the world sharing his story and discussing the changes that need to be made to prevent similar injustices from happening to other people. His powerful story of resilience, love, and forgiveness in the face of unimaginable injustice will inspire and challenge you.
